1.  Don’t fidget with clothes, hair or jewelry. Choose clothes carefully. Wear them, don’t let them wear you! Don’t place handbag or extra articles on the interviewer’s desk.

2.  Don’t smoke or chew gum, even if invited to do so.

3.  Don’t argue or tell the employer your troubles.  Your next employer does not want to hire a “victim.”

4.  Don’t stress your need for the job or mention personal or financial problems.

5.  Don’t say negative things about yourself and sell yourself out of a job.

6.  Don’t use slang or profanity.

7.  Don’t gossip or tell jokes.

8.  Don’t focus on wages, benefits or vacation.

9.  Don’t be afraid to smile!

10.  Please don’t ask the employer to make a copy of your resume. Have a copy available before your appointment.
